Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The content of the article and the materials contained therein do not infringe copyright, legal interests, or the property of third parties.
  • I declare that I am aware of the concept of "ghostwriting" and "guest authorship", which - in
this case - are not applied.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

General information

Articles that have not been previously published in other journals should be submitted to the editors. Forest Research Papers uses the professional anti-plagiarism system "iThenticate". The electronic version publishes articles written in Polish with an abstract in English and descriptions of tables and figures in English.

Manuscript

The Polish-language manuscript should not exceed 22 pages (A4 format), including tables, figures, and references, written without column divisions, with 30 lines per page (a total of 40,000 characters including spaces). Pages and lines must be numbered.

Author information

In a separate file, to conceal the identity of the article's author during the review process, please provide the following:

- Information about the authors, including the full names and the addresses of the institutions where the work was conducted. For the corresponding author, also include the telephone number and e-mail address.

- A detailed description of each author's contribution to the article, specified in terms of content (such as concept, statistical analysis, literature review, writing the paper, etc.), to prevent ghost writing and guest authorship.

- Information on sources of research funding.

The corresponding author must send the Editor, along with the final version of the article, a statement approving the version submitted for publication, a declaration of originality, ethics and conflict of interest, and a signed licence to publish the work.

Authors of articles involving animal research should attach an appropriate certificate from the Local Ethics Committee to the manuscript.

The author submitting the work for publication is responsible for providing the above information.

Title

The title should be short and concise, avoiding words such as "study", "research", "thesis", etc.

Abstract

An abstract in English, 3,000–4,000 characters (maximum), including spaces (approximately 1–1.5 pages). It should reflect the structure of the work and include the aim, scope of the research, methodology, main results, and conclusions. Individual sections should be separated by paragraphs. The abstract should include references to tables and figures in the text.

Keywords

Please provide keywords in both Polish and English, containing a total of up to 10 words. Keywords should not repeat the title.

Text

The structure of the article must follow the general principles for preparing scientific publications. The introduction should provide a concise overview of the current state of knowledge on the topic, as well as a clear statement of the purpose and scope of the work. Information on materials and research methods should be detailed enough to allow replication of the procedures and to obtain comparable results. The location of the study area should be described, including latitude, longitude, and elevation. Results should be presented comprehensively and clearly, and their interpretation should be compared with those of other authors. The concluding section should present clearly formulated conclusions based on the obtained results and their interpretation.

Please provide both Latin and Polish names of plants, animals, fungi etc. Abbreviations are permitted, but their full meaning must be given at first use. Two-, three-, and four-digit numbers should be written without spaces (e.g., 3251); for numbers with five digits or more, use a space every three digits from the right (e.g., 23 335). Decimal numbers should use a comma, not a full stop (e.g., 4,83), except in papers written in English.

Only units of measurement consistent with the International System of Units (SI) are accepted. Optional notation, e.g. g dm⁻³ or g/dm³.

References

References to literature in the text should include the author's surname and the year of publication in parentheses. If there are more than two authors, only the first should be cited, followed by "et al.", e.g. (Andrews et al. 2000; Gulledge, Schimel 2000). When citing multiple works simultaneously, use chronological order from oldest to newest publication, and for publications from the same year, use alphabetical order.

References written in Cyrillic should be transliterated according to the PN-ISO 9 standard (February 2000). It is recommended to primarily cite peer-reviewed publications. Journal titles should be given in full. For books, the ISBN and the number of pages should be provided, while for journal articles, the DOI (Digital Object Identifier) should be included.
Tables and figures

They should be understandable without referring to the article itself. If longer descriptions are necessary, they should preferably be placed below the table or figure. Titles and descriptions of tables and figures are required in both Polish and English.

Abbreviations used in LPB texts: table (tab.), figure (figure). In table and figure captions, use: Table, Figure.

Tables and figures should be incorporated into the main text. Figures should also be submitted as separate, editable graphic files (.xls, .xlsx, .pdf, .cdr, .ai). Photographs may be published if they add significant information to the text. They should be submitted as standalone bitmaps with a print-friendly resolution of 300 DPI.

Author's proofreading

It will be sent to the corresponding author's address.

Eligibility criteria for publication

Articles accepted for publication are scientific, presenting the results of original research – empirical, theoretical, technical, or analytical – describing the current state of knowledge, research methodology, process, results, and conclusions, with citations of referenced literature, as well as monographic, polemical, or review studies. If reviewers evaluate the article positively, the section editor selects it for publication and the Editor-in-Chief approves it.

Publication fees

Articles are published free of charge.
