Policy on the Use of AI Tools in the Journal Forest Research Papers 

The editorial board of the journal Forest Research Papers, committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and scientific integrity, has established the following guidelines regarding the use of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) and large language models (LLMs) in the creation of manuscripts submitted for publication in our journal:

1. Authors are required to disclose the use of AI tools at the time of manuscript submission. If AI tools assisted in the writing or translation process, this information should be included in the “Artificial Intelligence Declaration” section of the article.

2. AI tools (e.g., LLM, ChatGPT, etc.) may not be listed as co-authors of the work. Full responsibility for the content, originality, and substantive and linguistic accuracy of the article rests solely with the authors.

3. The use of AI algorithms as part of the research (e.g., in the analysis of remote sensing data or the modeling of stand growth) must be described in detail in the “Methods” section, specifying the name of the tool and its version.

4. It is unacceptable to publish AI-generated graphics that could mislead readers regarding the actual results of field or laboratory observations.

Information regarding the use or non-use of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) and large language models (LLMs) should be provided at the end of the article, before the References section, and the corresponding author is required to sign and submit the statement available on the LPB website along with the submitted manuscript.
